The Launch Party | About the Authors

Poets Brent Martin, Barbara Duncan, and Thomas Rain Crowe, along with illustrator Robert Johnson, presented a “launch party” in Sylva, North Carolina, on September 23, 2011, 7:30 pm, at the Jackson County Library Complex Community Room in Sylva, NC.

The celebration included readings by the poets, with special guests Charles Frazier, George Frizell, William Shelton, Jerry Wolfe, Wayne Caldwell, Keith Flynn, George Ellison, and John Lane. Music was provided by The Ian Moore Song & Dance Bluegrass Ensemble. Download the brochure (front, back)

Special thanks to Avram Friedman, Executive Director of the Canary Coallition, for videotaping and editing the whole evening and making it available to us to distribute via other media outlets. And thanks to the poets for organizing this extraordinary event to celebrate the launch of Every Breath Sings Mountains: The Great Smoky Mountains.

For those who were unable to attend, we are pleased to offer links (below) to online videos of the program.
